RICK FRIEDEL

Coach Rick is USSF licensed coach and has extensive experience with club, town, and recreation teams.  His coaching accomplishments include coaching his boys U14 team to the Massachusetts state title in 2017.  Rick played high school soccer in New Jersey and was a four year varsity starter at the goalkeeper position, the team's MVP and captain, and led them to the sectional finals in consecutive years.

 

He was named to "All Conference" and "All Shore" teams several times and was named to the New Jersey Soccer Coaches Association All-State team.  Coach Rick attended West Chester University where he was the starting goalkeeper beginning in his freshman year, and played a schedule consisting of top Division One teams.  He continues to play soccer today in the first division of the New England OTHSL.

Coach Rick completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Maryland and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, an MBA from Rutgers University, and has served on the board of several local charities.

The purpose of club soccer is to provide opportunity for youth players to experience a healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment to learn, love, and live the game of soccer.

Galway provides club members with year round access to qualified and licensed coaches, opportunities to play at a higher level, and exposure to various venues.
