Testimonials

Hello Galway Team,

I just wanted to pass on a compliment I received from relatives and friends who live in scarborough maine and came to our games yesterday. They sat on the sidelines with us as we watched the boys' games and last night told us they were so impressed with our club and the parents and coach. They are soccer families but have never been involved in a club team and said when the boys started losing they could not believe how supportive and positive every parent on the sideline stayed as well as our coach and the boys. The commented that they never heard one parent criticize their child or yell about the game. One of them stated as they walked across the fields to our game they heard several coaches screaming at their players and they were so relieved to see how Rob was continually coaching in a supportive way despite the boys losing and that even in the final minutes he was still offering words of encouragement to our boys. They also were impressed at how classy the boys were despite losing, they held their heads high and came of the field as a team. Made me proud to be part of the Galway Club! Thanks for a fun first tournament of our club soccer career, with four kids we are hoping for many more.

Guy, Fouad,

Firstly I would like to thank you for a great two weeks, I thoroughly enjoyed being apart of your set up and working with you and everyone else involved in the Galway fc and the Cohasset sports club. After working in USA for three seasons and doing a lot of travelling around the country I can say that Galway has surpassed any setup I have been involved with or even encountered, its a credit to the great job your'e doing up there (although I say most of your success is down to having a Welsh man in your team ha).

I hope that there is work for me in the future with Galway rovers, and would love to discuss with you the possibility of me returning to work as a coach and assist with what ever you guys need me to do.

Hope to hear back from you soon.

Regards and all the best for the season,
Patrick

Thank you all for another great year and heres to a great team! Grayson has had a blast on this team, learned so much, and it is great fun for us as parents to be involved with such a wonderful team of coaches and parents. Can't wait for fall.

Thanks!
Whitney, U -10 Boys Team

There are a couple of other things that I want to let you know about. Kathy Irwin Maple Soccer Director is very pleased that Galway is developing and appreciates your efforts.

I can't say enough good things about the way that Darren handled the team throughout the season. They are developing an understanding of what he is trying to teach them.

From my own experience and having watched 4 kids move through youth and college sports, I have seen that many coaches do not understand why a coach needs to have the skills and mindset of a teacher. Darren has both. I have seen this with both his U12 Boys team and our U17 girls team. Thank you very much, Darren.

Best,
Howie, U-16 Girls Parent

Hey all. On behalf of the entire Hirschfield family we would like to say thanks to Jason, Derek and manager Scott for all the hard work both fall and spring. We felt very lucky to be a part of such a great team of players, parents and coaches... Jack had a great experience... thanks to everyone for making it all alot of fun for us. See you all at tryouts! GO ROVERS!

Guy and Fouad:

I wanted to thank you both for your efforts on the Galway HS team -- Lawrie enjoyed the year very much and learned a great deal. Having watched a couple hundred club and Div 1 varsity games over the past nine years with two of my sons so far, I especially would like to applaud your skillful management of the games, substitutions, and the rotation of positions -- Galway was always fresh and ready to push to the final whistle, and all of the players were involved in every game. We all like to get the win, but when it divides a team into "the starters" and "the 3 minute guys," I think we all lose out. Continued emphasis on player development gets a lot of lip service at various levels of club play -- you both walk the walk and should be congratulated for doing what's right for the players.

Galway Coaches and Management,

In response to feedback regarding the Galway team experience...... in the short time Tucker and I have been involved with the club we can't even begin to express our gratitude for the outstanding experience we have been having. The unbelievable quality, positive coaching, the friendliness of parents and players alike, the incredible organization of team management and the list goes on. We are truly greatful to be a part of such a caring committed team and we thank you for havingl us!

I think you are doing as good a coaching job as I have ever seen. Matt is wanting to practice every night (never practiced before Galway), and he seems to be improving immensely after every practice.

I didn't get the chance to talk to you directly but I wanted to let you know that we are very happy we made the switch from Select. At Galway you really do focus on building a sense of "team" and ensuring that the girls are not only learning skills but having fun at the same time. Sophie is enjoying club soccer so much more this year and its a direct result of both your coaching and the team culture of Galway Rovers.

We are also very impressed with the level of organization and communication which really helps us manage the crazy schedules that all our kids have these days.

Its great to see the Galway values that Guy and I discussed earlier this year really showing through. Keep up the great work!!

Katie had the most wonderful time. She told us that "I never want this to end"; a great testiment to a great group of girls, a great coach, a great manager. Take care.

Guy,

I wanted to take a moment and thank you, and just tell you how impressed we have been so far with Galway club and your coaching. T.J. is really enjoying it and loves the team. I really like what you are teaching and instilling in the kids, and I think they are really learning.

My only resolution for the new year is to be grateful for what I have, so with that perspective, I am writing to thank you (and the Galway Organization) for your generosity that is allowing Katie to be part of such a wonderful team. The confidence she has gained, the joy she gets from playing, and the comaraderie she feels with her coaches and teammates are all gifts that can't be found under a tree. Please know how grateful I am to you everyday!

My Son Kevin Has loved his 3 years playing with Galway and gained a lot from the experience.

Galway was Kevin's first club soccer experience and you were his first club coach. Thanks for all you've done to inspire Kevin's passion for the game.

Best Regards,

Fouad and Guy,

I'm proud to have Jonathan be a part of the Galway Rovers, and I wholeheartedly believe in our boys and our coaches. It's a winning combination with the outcome of the Maple Tourney being proof positive of that!
